چکیده

The nonlocal emitter-waveguide coupling, which gives birth to the so called giant atom, represents a new paradigm in field of quantum optics and waveguide QED. We investigate single-photon scattering one-dimensional on two-level or three-level atom. Thanks natural interference induced by back forth photon transmitted/reflected between atom-waveguide coupling points, transmission can be dynamically controlled periodic phase modulation via adjusting size For giant-atom setup, we demonstrate energy shift is dependent atomic size. driven it great interest that, Autler-Townes splitting dramatically modulated width valleys (reflection range) tunable terms Our investigation will beneficial phonon control network based mesoscopical even macroscopical nodes involving

Autler-Townes effect for an atom in a 100% amplitude-modulated laser field. II. Experimental results.

We report the observation of the Autler-Townes absorption spectrum of a two-level atom in a 100% amplitude-modulated optical field. Two frequency-stabilized dye lasers interact with a three-level atomic cascade system. One of the two lasers is used to create the bichromatic field that saturates the lower transition, while the second one is tuned in the frequency between the second and third lev...

Autler-Townes effect for an atom in a 100% amplitude-modulated laser field. I. A dressed-atom approach.

A dressed-state rate-equation model is used to describe the Autler-Townes effect that is produced by a resonant 100% amplitude-modulated field driving a two-level resonance. The purpose of using this model is to give an intuitive interpretation of the rather complex absorption spectra that are produced when a weak probe field couples this strongly driven transition to a third atomic state. We o...

Objectively discerning Autler-Townes splitting from electromagnetically induced transparency.

Autler-Townes splitting (ATS) and electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) both yield transparency in an absorption profile, but only EIT yields strong transparency for a weak pump field due to Fano interference. Empirically discriminating EIT from ATS is important but so far has been subjective. We introduce an objective method, based on Akaike's information criterion, to test ATS vs EIT...

Autler-Townes effect in a superconducting three-level system.

When a three-level quantum system is irradiated by an intense coupling field resonant with one of the three possible transitions, the absorption peak of an additional probe field involving the remaining level is split. This process is known in quantum optics as the Autler-Townes effect. We observe these phenomena in a superconducting Josephson phase qubit, which can be considered an "artificial...

Dynamical Autler-Townes control of a phase qubit

Routers, switches, and repeaters are essential components of modern information-processing systems. Similar devices will be needed in future superconducting quantum computers. In this work we investigate experimentally the time evolution of Autler-Townes splitting in a superconducting phase qubit under the application of a control tone resonantly coupled to the second transition. A three-level ...
